Description
Russia experienced heavy equipment losses in 1941 and early 1942, plus most of the nation’s heavy industry had to relocate further east to evade advancing German forces. The USA and UK provided Lend-Lease vehicles to help their Russian ally in its time of need, including an astonishing 351,000 trucks and 51,000 jeeps. While Stalin played down the important role played by Allied Lend-Lease equipment, it accounted for nearly 10% of all Russian war materiel. Tanks were also supplied, including 1750 M4A2 Shermans armed with 75mm guns, and 1850 M4A2s armed with 76mm guns. Many Allied tanks weren’t warmly welcomed by their Russian crews, but more capable tanks like the M4A2(76)W made a better impression with their stabilized guns, radios and reliability. Features: - Newly tooled turret made by slide mold - Engine deck newly tooled to represent Red Army M4A2(76)W - Slide-molded upper hull - Suspension system reproduced with delicate details - Gun barrel is slide molded in one piece - Light and horn guards finely detailed - T-49 tracks made in DS - New Cartograf decal Text is copyright by Dragon.
