- Description
- Developed by FMC Corporation (now united Defense, LP), first production models of the LVTP7 made their appearance in 1971. This 17-ton amphibious vehicle is widely used by the U.S. Marines today, as well as marine forces of other nations. Surprisingly for such a large and ponderous-looking vehicle, the AAV7 can achieve speeds of up to 64km/h on roads and 13.5km/h in water.
