1/72 M20 Armored Utility Car

Description: Model was built almost Out of the Box with few small "upgrades" - machinegun tip drilled, glass on light was made from Microscale Kristal Klear, exhaust was added at the rigth back side of the vehicle as it didn't exist. Few Only decal used is not part of the Italeri box, as the US star was way too big for place where it should be, so I used some smaller US star... Whole vehicle is is painted with acrylic Olive drab colour. Camouflage patches were masked with Maskol, and then whole vehicle was oversprayed with acryllic white colour... After drying, maskol was removed and patches of olive drab became visible... Weathering was done with MIG pigment European dust....

Judge 1: The photo’s are cropped well with good angles but they lack depth of field, check out our photo guide for some tips. This is a well built model that captures the feel of the cold Ardennes winter. Be careful with paint splatter when airbrushing your white wash as it really stands out against the dark OD background but otherwise it has some nice tonal variety and good contrast. The dirty crew compartment is very well done but for such a wet muddy terrain I’d expect the mud on the outside of the vehicle to be wetter and more voluminous.
Judge 2: this model is screaming out for a crew & loads of personal stowage & snow chains on the wheels or at least snow! what make this model stand out is the wear & scratches on the whitewash that has almost a frosted look. Also the front lights look great with the microscale klear, I would have replaced the front tow hooks & hatch grap rails & tools on the side as Italeri have let your workdown here.Another good thing to add would be the two aerials onto the little base pieces added in the kit. Construction has no flaws,& the star decal is well applied. the tyres look really good but need to look like they have been through wet mud to match the dio it's in.
Judge 3: A good build and a very nicely done winter whitewash. The worn off areas have been done well and there is a nice amount of depth to the model.
