Manufacturer(s): Revell

Description: Revell kit, almost OOTB... but with some additions. This is, still, somehow a WIP, because I want to add a ARMORSCALE gun, spare track links, some luggage and rolled tarps, and a commander. Painted with acrylics from Tamiya, weathered with oils/pastels, in the old-fashion way.

Photos are a little dark, so difficult to judge, but the general build and application of paint and markings is good. The weathering could benefit from a bit more variety in tones and the rusty coloured wash looks too heavy around some of the details.

Quite a well made model but the photo’s, although well cropped, are too dark and the pre-painting photo is missing. Construction in general is very good with only the loaders hatch hinge and 2 lumps on the glasics plate (where the spare tracks goes) needing attention. The paint is smooth and the colour good but you could improve it with some more variation, highlights and shadows. The dry-brushing, although well done, is a bit excessive and reduces the overall level of realism as does the silver wear and tear. There are visible tide marks where you applied the pin wash and it would be better if it was a darker colour. To eliminate the tide marks work with small areas at a time (say the turret roof, then the sides etc), wait 2-3 minutes and with a clean moist brush blend the edges into the paint work. The weathering could be more robust and the rusty tracks are more suited to an abandoned vehicle.

Good closeup & interesting angles with your photograghy but abit dark in some views. Construction is very good all hooks & infantry grap rails are straight & inline. the basecoat although nice & even, is abit plain a darker & lighter mix of you basecoat would have added interest & depth. the brown wash works well but would have worked better with it streaking downwards on the horizonal surfaces & adding it to the wheels to help them blend with the rest of the vechicle too. the steel drybrush looks effective on the turret top & that could have been moved onto the engine to highlight grills, bolts, tracks & fuel caps. The decals although nicely applied, bar it going abit crooked on the turret rear & personally I would have hand painted the strips as they were usually quite slopperly done in real life. the rear of the vechicle looks like it needs to be dirtied up abit too. with exhuast soot & mud.
