Awarded: Gold

By: Vladimir Grigoriev

Manufacturer(s): ModelTrans

Modifications: The barrel is made of syringe needle. The towing cable is made of copper wire. The stowage compartment in the rear side is scratch-built.

After-market parts: CMK jerry cans

Description: The model depicts a vehicle of an unknown unit in France in June 1940. A photo of such a vehicle published in "Frontline Illustration" (issue #3 of 2007, page 52) was used as a reference. The stowage compartment and unusual way of painting markings on the left side are based upon this photo. The model is painted by Vallejo acrylics, weathered with W&N oils and dry pastels.

A good build (all-resin kit are usually more challenging that plastic kits) topped by an even better paint finish. The dark grey looks very good as often it is too dark, too light or too bluish in tint. What really stands out is the dusty finish and subtle paint chips / scratches. It all adds up to an extremely rich and interesting finish, especially for a single colour camo scheme. Well done!

A good build & you filled most of the air bubbles just the odd one left on the tracks & jerrycans. The base gray has nice tones with the chipping, dust & stains on the engine deck. The rust on the exhaust is well done too. The crate on the back look less convincing. another weak point is the hand painted no. & cross. Nice overall look.

Very well done build, clean too. Base paint is very realistic (grey tone) but the fantastic part is the weathering. i love in particular chipping work and the superb rusted exhaust....
