Judge 1
Nice job with the interrior, but it looks a bit monotone. Base color is nice. Weathering is not enough for me. Chips are well painted, a bit large here and there, but no major faults. Sandbags are too dark, some of them has a strange shape. Grills are overscale, wood box is nice, canvas could be painted better. Black smoke mark on the barrel is overdone. Running surface of the wheels is too dusty, there is no rubber mark on the tracks. Polished steel surface on the external side of the track is also missing. Nice model, good subject, but next time try to pay more attention on little details.

I know this isn't a photographic competition but they are all the judges have to work with. Always use a plain background and crop your photos so that the model takes up more than 60% of the image. Read our photo tips section for some ideas and more tips. The model it self is absoluly first rate and I'm sure everyone would have liked to see more of it. The additions your've made have been well executred and the paint is nicely applied. As one of the other judge has mentioned some of the chipping is alittle over scale, for best results use a new and very fine brush - I find a "4/0" is best. I like the subtle weathering especially the running gear, be careful to keep the sand off the tire treads. The base although not judged is excellent, keep up the good work.
Judge 3
A very impressive looking base build, but I feel the sandbags may have been a detail too far, looking a little too much like putty and not terribly like sand filled bags. Paintwork is good but perhaps lacks a little depth of colour. Washes are a bit mixed and a couple of strange stains are evident. Detail painting is good, again with the exception of the sandbags, which just don't look right. The paintchipping looks quite convincing and seems to be in most of the right places. The weathering of the running gear looks a little arbritrary, with sand accumulated in slightly odd places. This area might look more plausible were the model sunk into the sand of the base, but the diorama setting is outside the scope of this month's competition.
