Manufacturer(s): Revell/Ace

Modifications: Scratch built details: handles, suspension etc - generally a lot of details :)

After-market parts: RB Model barrel

Description: The model represents howitzer from Russian front in middle of dry summer. It is ready to transport but still does not assembled finaly to the transportation configuration. This howitzer is a kit bash. It is easy to recognize "what is what" due to the plastic colour difference (and details quality:) Model is painted with Humbrol enamels, artistic oils and pastels.

Good idea using the Revell 17/21 cm parts to improve the Ace 15cm kit as well as the turned barrel Also great detailing using the the fine wire. Nice colour, looking either sun faded or traces of white wash. The chipping is perfect in scale & in the correct places (heavy around the breach & carriage spades. The only other place for more wear would be on the central wheel nuts with the dark chipping or little oil streaks well done.

An interesting kit-bash and some very neat detailing combine to provide a very elegant model. The appearance is further enhanced by a subtly shaded basecoat and some very effective weathering, the chipping in particular being very well done. All in all a very good model indeed.

I really like what you’ve done here, there is lots of great detail to keep the eyes busy. The paint work is very well applied and I really like the colour and subtle tonal variations. I would like to have seen a darker pin wash, the deeper shadows and depth it would really help show off the all the fine details on this gun. The dust is subtle and realistic as is the scruffy appearance of the gun but I find the range pole to be a little over scale. Overall this is a very nice model, keep up the good work.
