1/144 sFh18 Howitzer 150mm

Silver medal

Awarded: Silver

By: charles carroll

Manufacturer(s): Scratch built

Modifications: ALL scratch built from plastic strips and rod & brass wire, part of the barrel is from Q-tip stick. I built about 17 of these and sold most, had a few left unbuilt .

After-market parts: Wheels from Hasegawa 1/72 SdKfz 7

Description: Paint is Polly-Scale. I didn't weather this one very much.

Very skilled at building! For a Q-tip you seem to have captured the real feel of the real steel barrel. A few things though; I noticed that the wheels seems to splay otuwards a bit. The painting needs more washes and drybrushing to bring all your detail to life.

Very beautiful! Even if there is only a photos before assemblage and not one before coloration, the scratchbuild is very very good. All little details are good represented and are very precise. Coloration, for me, is not at the same level of construction. It seems that base color is too heavy and, as mentioned by you, there is few weathering. However a good model. Paolo Capitanio

A fantastic bit of scratchbuilding, especially considering the scale. The paint finish is also very good. Well done!
