Bronze medal

Awarded: Bronze

Manufacturer(s): ICM, 1/72

Modifications: Grab handles, tow cable and hook were made from copper wires. I also added the weld joints on the hull.

After-market parts: Elefant etched nuts (only added to the front mask).

Description: This BTR-152K in command vehicle version represents a vehicle of the Guard units of Soviet Army in the ninety-sixty years. It looks fresh as i wanted it to look like new vehicle before it went to some bigger action.

Excellent build! The cam pattern is extremely well done with no overspray and tight lines. Nice weld detail. Suggestion would be to provide a bit more tonal contrasts in each colour. Some weathering around the lower surfaces would add even more depth to an otherwise well done build. Alignment appears good as well. Would have been good to see "what's inside" given the hatches are wide open. Excellent job on the photos - nice tight shots.

From construction point the model is good. The assemblage seems ok but I see from photos some filler accumulation around the grab handles.I think that more cleaning in this area was needed. The decoration is definitely better than construction; I like the decals too. Despite the model represent a newone before any operation cycle, I think that a deeper lining and a some more drybrush would have given more contrast to the realization. Paolo Capitanio

Well built and the camouflage has been very well applied. The model has a nice, slightly metallic sheen and the details are shaded well.
