Gold medal

Awarded: Gold

By: Sven-Åke Grufstedt

Manufacturer(s): Revell

Modifications: The bits and pieces in the open stowage bins are scratchbuilt from small pieces of leftover PE, pieces of wood and plastic. The ropes were made from lead wire and a very thin fishing line was used as ropes for the stowage on the rear deck.

After-market parts: Photo etch from PART and resin accessories from various manufacturers.

Description: Painted with Vallejo Model Air and weathered with artist oils and pigments.

Excellent build and painting!!! A stunning model with excellent tonal variations in the single scheme. Very very minor things: 1) I would only add some more dusting and weathering to the wheels and tracks; 2) the tie-down ropes seem slightly loose; and 3) the box on the fender is not tied down. But this is nick-picking for an otherwise exceptionally well done model.
Judge 2
A very good build with the stowage being well placed. The paint finish is excellent, especially the weathering and shading that gives good depth and interest to the model.
Judge 3
Excellent construction with plenty of added items. I like how the PE parts were mounted and how the stowage were fixed too. Excellent also the coloration and weathering phases. The general base tone was very well modified and use of oil and pigments are quite perfect! I like the general look, very realistic; it seems a very iron beast! Perhaps, a few dirty on the low part of the model it could be added, but this is a personal opinion... Paolo Capitanio.
