Description: This is my scratchbuild of the most superior Ukranian MBT T-84-120 “Yatagan”. My model represents the subversion in development which participated in the comparative evaluation trial in Turkey in the year 2000. Yatagan is the further development of the tank T-84 with 120mm main gun, horizontaly fitted rounds in a separate space in rear turret part, equipped with new electronics, transmission and engine The base for my scratch is the revell's T-80BV. All parts are heavily redesigned by using plastic strip, sheet 0,05 0,1 0,2 0,5mm, metal sheet 0,01 0,03 0,1mm, assorted wire, assorted needles etc. I can say that I newly created all the details. No aftermarket parts(Eduard photoetched, OKB, extratech) were used. The turret is reshaped to the angular by using plastic sheet, superglue and putty according to the drawings. The rear part of the turret is scratch from plastic sheet. All details on the turret was cutted out and newly retooled. The ERA is made from plastic sheet. The hull has cutted out the engine space and deck, hull is lenghtned according to drawings, reshaped in line with photos. Upper engine deck is again made from plastic sheet, metal mesh and metal sheet. I also cutted front dashboards and made them from the thick clear plastic using the same technology as a Acetate canopies are made. Front upper hull has also deleted details and make new ones. Side skirts are scratch from plastic sheet with metal wire details. The AA machine gun is made from needles, plastic sheet, metal wire and metal sheet according to the drawings from the publication about T-80 and scaled to the 1/72. Commanders hatch and cupola are newly redesigned by using ALTECO resin putty. The IR jammers Stora were build from resin and spares are made with saw. Front mudguards are made of metal sheet, turret boxes are made from plastic sheets and the metal sheet. Cover in one turret box is medical mitt. The gun barrel was reshaped by using metal sheets. Painting was done by 1200 surfacer

What can I say - simply beautiful. Good skills on building! Excellent tonal weathering that is subtle and convincing. The only problem I see is that the right track at the rear seems out of alignment. Nonetheless fanatastic build - WELL DONE!

Fantastic scratchbuilding with a good paint finish. A little more shading around the various details would help show off the great construction even more but overall a very nice model.

Excellent construction and scratchbuild realization. Truly beautiful the turret work, stunning! About coloration I think that the tank is too much clean; watching photos, seems that a deeper washing would have improved details of models. I would have make some more dirty on the lower part and some more filtering on the flat surfaces to modify the tone of base colors. Paolo Capitanio
