|Kit(s)||sWS, gepanzert (späte Ausf.)|
The kit contains the parts for one 1/72nd scale gepanzert späte Ausführung sWS.
The kit comes in the usual MACO cardboard box, with a nice computer generated photo of the kit. The box contains 3 sprues with 160 parts molded in a grey and white coloured, almost transparent, plastic. The box also contains a single A4 sheet with building instructions. The instructions are very detailed 3D drawings in grey tones.
Most of the part of this kit are the same as the original sWS kit from MACO. The new parts, the grey sprue, are the parts for the armoured cab, the new road-wheels and the new cargo bed. The details on the parts are crisp and the quality is really good.
Like in the original sWS kit, there is very little, if any, flash on the parts, and the more visible ejector marks should all be either hidden when the kit is build, or below fenders and the like.
After having finished the sWS and having build the FlAK 43 and Munitionsanhänger, I'm starting to get used to the crispness and quality of the kits from MACO. Luckily this is another great kit from MACO and another first in our scale. MACO is almost getting better at releasing variants of the same basic kit than Dragon is.
I've had a few problems finding a proper resource for the late version of the vehicle with the special road-wheels, but I've found several photos with the armoured version having the earlier road-wheels and the kit includes the road-wheels for building that too.
Rumor has it that Revell is involved with producing these kits, and if that is true, I wish they would work closer with MACO when creating the design of part and sprues. If I compare the latest Revell kits I've bought with this and others from MACO, the MACO kits have better details.
Now I'm just waiting for the next sWS kit, the 15 cm Panzerwerfer auf sWS which with some luck will be ready for Xmas.
