Kit(s) | Schwere PzAbt 502 & Schw.Pz.Kp. Meyer Tiger Is |
This decal sheet has marking for no less than 26 different Tiger Is.
The decals, together with instructions, comes in a small zipped plastic bag. The instructions are the same used with Echelon's 1/16th, 1/35th and 1/48th Tiger sheets.
The complete title of the sheet is: Pz.kpfw. VI Ausf. E Tiger I, Markings for Schw.Pz.Abt. 502 & Schw.Pz.Kp. Meyer (Initial, Early & Mid versions). With markings for 26 different vehicles, the variety is amazing. The decal sheet is printed by Micro Scale Industries. The instructions are printed on both sides of an A4 sheet (approx.). The instructions are in full colour, and all 26 vehicles are shown with atleast one drawing (the vehicle seen from the left or right side). With the instructions being in colours, and each vehicle shown as initial, early or mid production, all you have to do is decide which you want to build, and then use the instructions instead of researching yourself. To mention a few of the more recognizable vehicles: 2 Otto Carius's tanks and Hildegard (vehicle 305).
The decals have fine details, good colour saturation and are all in perfect registration. Unfortunantly 2 of the decals seems to be misprinted (no. 33 and 35). This is an amazing set, and will keep me busy building Tigers for years. The research done for these decals are amazing, and really makes it easier for the modeller (I'll probably do my own research anyway, but that's just me being weird). The instructions even show small details on some of the vehicles, like a small plate added to cover a hit. The details also show whether or not the vehicle has zimmerit. Some would probably feel that the content of the sheet is a bit narrow, when only having markings for s.Pz.Abt. 502, but not me. I certainly hope Echelon Fine Details will make more small scale decal sets. Highly recommended.
