I like the dusty look of this diorama & the dusty sand in the tyre treads of the replacement tyres is definitely worth it , also the look of the chain on the bumper is a good touch likewise the windows with the wiper marks on the dusty windows. The rear tarp has has good texture, a finer edge a long the top where the tarp frame sit would have helped & the main missed chance was to have the tarp a different colour or tone. More smaller chipping & dry brushing over the bolt details would create more interest in the plain colour. The figures look good, the standing figure would look better standing closer to the other figure.

These kits are pretty small and you've done a good job putting it together with only the front bumper looking out of alignment. The Dragon wheels and homemade texture on the tarps adds to the model and have been well integrated. It is always hard to make a single coloured paint scheme look interesting and although you've added some colour variation it could do with more. Try making the horizontal surfaces a little more faded then the vertical and accentuate any shadow regions by painting the shadows and the highlights (the tarp over cargo area in particular would benefit from this). As one of the other judges has pointed out when you get such a good opportunity - the tarps - to make something a different shade of the base colour take it. A darker pin wash will give you some more shadows around the smaller details and help add interest to the mono tone scheme. The figures look good and the tricky camo pattern looks authentic, they could also be improved further by darker shadows around the details. The sandpaper base is a great idea and looks very realistic, the sand is also well done and believable. The scene although small is interesting and the figures are well placed creating a focus point for the eye. Overall a simple but effective scene and time spent working on the painting skills pointed out will take you to the next level, good work.

You’ve chosen an interesting subject to your work, though while looking from the right side of the vehicle it isn’t clear what made the vehicle stop. From other angles the picture is clear. The base of this work is very interesting. I like your idea of a map of Iraq as a background and usage of sand paper as a main base. The vehicle is a good build; it isn’t that easy to assemble such small cars. You’ve added some nice details, especially the chain. Painting is nice though a little uneven on the back side of the vehicle. I’d advice you to add more pin washes around small details and make a wash in general. Some stronger shading (as the previous judges mentioned) would make this small car more impressive. The figures a nicely painted, still they’d also benefit from stronger shades and highlighting.
